BAP Guide
BAP (Beckn Application Platform) Guide
Introduction
This guide provides a comprehensive overview of setting up and integrating an Participant (BAP) with the UBI Network. A BAP represents applications (such as beneficiary-facing apps, portals, or services) that enable users to discover, apply for, and access benefits available through the UBI ecosystem.
There could be two types of participants (Seeker aka Beneficiary Platform):
Seeker / Participant - who already have some portal or system of their own that lets users browse through benefit scheme or apply to benefits schemes
And, Participant - who do not have any ready system
BAP Guide
The guide is divided into two key sections:
Protocol Server Setup for BAP
Connecting your Participant / Seeker System to BAP Protocol Server
Section 1:
This Protocol Server Setup Guide is common for both types of Participants (Seeker side app implementors).
It has instructions to configure and register your BAP so it can connect to the UBI network. By following this guide, implementers will be able to:
Register their BAP on the UBI network.
Section 2:
For both types of Participants (Seeker side app implementors) stated above, then need to implement these functionalities:
Enable beneficiaries to search for available benefits.
Facilitate the complete application flow using VCs (Verifiable Credentials).
Seamlessly interact with providers while ensuring compliance with the open network protocols.
2.1 For Participants (Seeker side app implementors) - who already have some portal or system of their own that publishes or lists benefits schemes
These types of Participants will basically have to implement a layer between the UBI network and their existing Participant (Seeker) backend services.
They can do so by following this BAP Integration Guide , which has step-by-step details of API flows (Search, Select, Init, Confirm) that the BAP must implement to enable smooth interaction with Providers (BPPs) via the network.
Following this guide, serves as the starting point for any organization or developer building a beneficiary-facing application on the UBI network.
2.2 And, Participants (Seeker side app implementors) - who do not have any ready system:
These types of providers without any ready system can potentially make use of Reference Beneficiary Toaster Application.
All they need to do is - follow the installation and configuration instructions and start using it to get an idea of how beneficiary / seeker app can be built.
