Beneficiary Workflow
DigiVrtti is a user-friendly, student-centric digital application that simplifies the process of pre-verifying documents for scholarship scheme applications.
Critical Actors
Student (Beneficiary) Registers, uploads, and manages personal & academic documents.
DigiAttester (Institution Nodal Officer / verifier) Performs human attestation for documents not verifiable through APIs.
External Systems / APIs OTR (NSP), State verification APIs (for Caste, Income, Residence), ONEST.
Stage 1: Student Registration & Sign-up
Pre-requisite: Student must have completed registration on the NSP portal and obtained OTR (One-Time Registration) number along with the OTR PDF/screenshot.
Sign-up Process:
Student opens the DigiVrtti app/web portal.
Uploads OTR PDF/screenshot as an attachment.
Backend performs OCR extraction to read key details:
OTR Number
Name
Gender
Date of Birth (if available)
System checks for duplicate OTR.
If OTR already exists → Registration is rejected.
If new → Proceed to account creation.
Account Creation:
Login ID: OTR Number
Initial Password: DigiVrtti@123
On first login, system enforces password reset.
Profile auto created at server side with details extracted from OTR.
Stage 2: Profile Completion
After first login, student must complete personal and educational details.
Profile Fields:
Profile Picture (passport size)
Who’s Mobile (Self/Parent/Teacher/Gurdian/Others)
Stage 3: Document Upload & Pre-Verification
A. QR Code Scan Verification (Offline Alternative)
Student can scan QR code printed on State-issued documents.
App downloads corresponding PDF page from State portal.
Backend performs OCR + validation, extracts key attributes:
Document type
Issuing authority
Validity/expiry date
If details pass checks → Document marked Verified.
B. Manual Attestation via DigiAttester Portal
For documents not verifiable through APIs, such as:
Marksheet
Bonafide Certificate
Admission Letter, etc.
Process:
Student uploads scanned document (JPG/JPEG).
System categorizes document status as:
Unverified → Uploaded → Verified
OCR extracts data (name, institution, year, etc.).
Document flows to DigiAttester Portal assigned to INO or verifier.
DigiAttester reviews and marks:
Approved → Verified
Rejected → Flag updated in DigiVrtti
Audit trail maintained at both ends.
Stage 4: Scheme Notification & Application (via ONEST)
Once the profile and documents are verified, DigiVrtti syncs with Open Network (ONEST) for scheme notifications.
Based on the student’s geography, class level, and eligibility:
DigiVrtti shows available schemes for that student.
Student applies directly from DigiVrtti.
Stage 5: Submission to Provider Portal
For each pre-verified application, DigiVrtti compiles:
Applicant data packet
Verified document images (JPG/JPEG copies)
All the verified credentials in DigiVrtti will be securely tokenized to establish authenticity, ensure data integrity, and maintain digital trust across connected systems.
